Quinson
is a typical village of about 300 inhabitants in Southern Provence,
situated at the Gorges du Verdon, between 2 artificial lakes, the Lac
du Ste. Croix with the Grand Canyon du Verdon and the Lac d'Esparron.
In the village you will find a post office, food shops for the daily supply,
a wine cooperative, a bar and several restaurants.
Quinson has recently become famous because of numerous discoveries of prehistorical material and its prehistorical museum, built by Sir Norman Foster. It is the biggest prehistorical museum in Europe and was opened in April 2001. |
